I joined the ActBlue and ordered a t-shirt and Bumper sticker and added a ten dollar tip(total $40.00) and
gave you my credit card number then you over
charged my credit card for $50.00. This is not acceptable, and it must be corrected at once or
I will cancel the charge tomorrow. And cancel the
membership in ActBlue. A good idea I think, but badly managed to date.

I just responded to your ACT Blue membership drive and ordered a T-shirt and bumpersticker supporting Elizabeth Warren...however, I will not be completing the monthly donation part of the membership for the very fear of what happened when I gave my credit card info....you charged me $50.00 when the order plus the tip of $10.00 added up to $40.00. A mistake, a computer error, maybe, inexcusable
certainly, when you are a 74 year old military widow
living on a fixed income, that kind of a mistake could mean eating or not for me. I urge you to correct this error for me or consider this my last communication with ActBlue and the last of my support for this type of Pact or Pack or whatever you are calling this these days.

It's an app where you can create a separate space within Facebook to remember loved ones who passed and celebrate their lives.
Today is August 12, 2012 and my Fundraising Page, Progressives Worth Supporting, sent a total of $3200 spread to about 40 candidates listed. I'm grateful and a little surprised that a few others have used the page since it was started.
But it takes me to the bundling question earlier. I contributed earlier as a result of Daily Kos (and generally reinforce their objects). I use Amex to pay which is sometimes a problem. I contributed to Obama's campaign in 2008 and other races closer to home. Not so oddly, many of the campaigns I follow use Act Blue. So I thought why don't I in effect bundle myself. So I do.
Obviously Act Blue is an effective tool, but instead of some fathead Dixiecan currying favor, I can skip the flesh pressing and get to it. The truth is that there are a lot of bundlers within this big mother bundler and it works.
It lets me keep up with my contributions as with everyone. I may max out a very small number of candidates, so it helps that I get that information. I tend to contribute based on when and what I can, but I also don't have any objection to the occasional money bomb although the money may be more driblet individually.
I believe it matters. Although this note is not strictly OT.

Dead silence. Interesting. In this case, does silence imply assent? -Qui tacet consentit?
Perhaps nobody wants to discuss these issues because nobody wants to acknowledge the truth: Obama = not a real democrat.
We are stuck with him, and we have no reliable method to force him to honor his progressive promises. Worse, we have no reliable method to prevent him from giving republicans practically everything they could have wanted from a third term of the Bush administration.
And worst of all, allegations of torture of POWs will never be investigated. That's Obama's biggest gift to republicans, and certainly one they don't deserve.

A few comments for Andrea “FORWARD GOBAMA 2012”, RE your remarks from the last article (First Quarter Roundup) which was closed before I could reply. First, please don’t question my patriotism nor my commitment to this party, -I don’t question yours. I'm a democrat, and I have used ActBlue many times to contribute to causes I support. Second, it does appear that some others agree with my concerns regarding the president.
I commented that it seems Obama’s real agenda in the 2008 election was to eliminate Hillary Clinton in the primary, get elected by hitting the "demographic sweet-spot" as a black democrat who was opposed to the wars, then accomplish little to nothing for democrats, compromise at every opportunity with republicans, continue Dick Cheney’s plan for toppling the governments of every state in the mid east except Israel, and basically run out the clock on all the hopes and dreams of Democrats and working class citizens who voted for him.
I would add that his real agenda also included making sure that alleged torture of POWs and battlefield detainees was never investigated. To be clear, I’m suggesting a political quid pro quo agreement between Obama and the previous administration or the GOP.
Andrea replied: “I had to double check that Bruce's comments were not posted in 2010 instead of 2012. Maybe you guys should double check what Bruce is talking about because there are so many mistakes in his rather long comment. Talking about getting rid of Hillary Clinton in the Presidential race, WHAT? She is the Secretary of State and is not running for President.”
When Hillary Clinton and Obama ran against each other in the primary, it was for the 2008 presidential election. Hillary was not Secretary of State then, she was a senator from New York. Stop playing dumb and stop muddying the water with BS.
I offered a critique of Obama’s policy regarding Israel and the mideast conflict:
Obama promised he would force a resolution of the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians, but after 2 years he has not even gotten Israel to honor the obligations of it’s previous peace agreements.
In particular, the Road Map Agreement signed under GW Bush requires Israel to STOP ALL Settlement construction activity. This was Israel’s obligation under Phase 1 of the Road Map. Phase 2 would commence direct negotiations between the two parties for core issues and final status. Obama’s insistence that the Palestinians go to direct negotiations with Israel without a complete stop of Settlement construction CONTRAVENES the Road Map Agreement.
Worse, Obama used his veto in the UN Security Council to protect Israel’s Settlement construction from a resolution that might have stopped it so that legitimate peace negotiations could proceed as per Road Map stipulations.
Lastly, Obama has used the US leadership position in the Quartet to cripple it and prevent advancement of the agenda for peace it was formed to pursue.
Andrea replied: “As for Israel I believe keeping peace with them is in our favor especially with the Iran nuclear problems that are at hand. If we did not have the backing of Israel we would be bombed by Iran on our soil right now.”
Wow. So we would be bombed by Iran on our soil right now if Israel was not protecting us. Let me pause for a second to let that one sink in. I have to ask, do you actually believe that, or is it just hyperbole from AIPACs talking points memo?
OK... moving on. Regarding Wisconsin, can anyone explain why Obama couldn’t show up there when his party needed him? Honestly, he was in the state next door, but just couldn’t make it. What gives? My opinion: That was the decision of a political coward. We need a leader who will stand with us in the difficult moments, not one who uses us as a convenient stepping stone when it suits his agenda, then goes AWOL when things get difficult for us. Obama says he needs to know that "we have his back" in the coming election. Why didn't he "have our back" in Wisconsin?
As I said, the sad thing is republicans win if Obama gets reelected, and they win if he isn't reelected. Right now they are getting practically everything they could have asked for from a third term of the Bush administration.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not against Obama because he's black or because some idiot questioned his nationality. Far from it. I'm against Obama because I think he's red. Obama has kept more of George Bush's campaign promises than he has kept of his own. I didn't vote for that, and I sure as Hell won't vote for it a second time.

Actually, I enthusiastically donated to and voted for Obama in 2008, and I agree with much of what Bruce said. I won't vote for Ron Paul (although I admire him for being consistent and honest). Unfortunately, that would help Republicans take the White House.
On Afghanistan, if you read the actual text of the recent agreement, it merely states that beyond 2014, our troops will require yearly re-authorization of funds to support and train the Afghan military forces. It makes no mention of actual troop levels. It also calls on NATO to keep troops there beyond 2014, and the agreement will remain in effect until 2024.
I'm extremely disheartened by the lack of leadership and fortitude exhibited by both Obama and the Democrats in Washington. Aside from what Bruce mentioned, Obama has also assassinated two American citizens WITHOUT any charges brought against them. His administration has also vigorously fought to keep Guantanamo detainees wrongfully incarcerated from bringing their case to court to win release.
But now I believe the problem isn't with Obama, the problem is with us.
There's a famous saying attributed to FDR, when in person, supporters once started in with their demands of him - "I agree with you, I want to do it, now make me do it."
Republicans are very organized in elections, but so are Democrats. But conservatives are VERY organized and assertive when it comes to shaping policy AFTER elections, and progressives just aren't. And in fact, it's more of a necessity for progressives to get this right than conservatives, because those who vote for Democrats are so all over the place ideologically. Democrats get voted into power, but there are always enough conservative Democrats to stall progress. We have to get really organized. And assertive. And even aggressive. We've seen the other side do this for too long now, and it's time for us to not just match it, but obliterate it.
There are so many things that need to change, but we're going to have to fight ALL THE TIME to change them, one by one.

I believe that the comments left by Bruce are wrong and he is a Republican posting in a democratic forum and trying to smear our President. As for President Obama I do not believe most of you know the tremendous strives he has made in the last 4 years. I certainly do not agree with many of the comments made by Bruce. Some of Bush's politics are still around and that is because he has endorsed Gov. Romney and Romney has already endorsed a return to Bush-era politics. Massive tax cuts for the wealthest costing $5 trillion, zero accountability for Wall Street (J.P. Morgan) and a reckless foreign policy that would keep our troops in Afghanistan indefinitely. Yes Guantanamo is still open but there is no more water boarding or torture. Osama Bin Laden is now gone and not because of Bush standing on an air craft carrier waving to the troops. It took a President, our Commander in Chief to actually issue the order to get Osama and yes thank you Navy Seals you guys are terrific and one of the most trained and fearless fighters we have. President Obama took a big risk when he sent them into Pakistan without the permission of the Pakistan Government and that took a lot of guts. President Obama has to fight for every bill that passes his desk due to the unrelenting Tea Party and Republican Party. If he veto's many of the bills he can risk his Presidency with illegal actions. Bush never cared about illegal actions and that is why he was the worst President with an overall rating of 22% when he left office. There is now talk of filing war crimes against Bush and I hope these charges are followed up with action. Bush started two illegal wars when he knew there was no Nuclear Weapons of Mass Destruction in Iraq, Cheney has told us this and so has Colin Powell. Seems the T-party, Boehner and the GOP have forgotten what democracy is. I had to double check that Bruce's comments were not posted in 2010 instead of 2012. Maybe you guys should double check what Bruce is talking about because there are so many mistakes in his rather long comment. Talking about getting rid of Hillary Clinton in the Presidential race, WHAT? She is the Secretary of State and is not running for President. Bill Clinton is endorsing President Obama. 12 years more in Afghanistan again wrong. Many of the troops are coming home after the summer and we will be out of there in 2014. The Iraq war is over and I guess no one told that to Bruce. Personally, I think Bruce is a Republican trying to scare us with his untruths. As for Israel I believe keeping peace with them is in our favor especially with the Iran nuclear problems that are at hand. President Obama has started sanctions against Iran and they are working but there is still the threat of nuclear action and Israel has their fingers clutching their guns and are ready to go to war with Iran immediately. If we did not have the backing of Israel we would be bombed by Iran on our soil right now. Plus, unlike Bush we have our allies that left us when Bush began the Iraq war. Then Bruce goes on about jobs, President Obama has created 4.25 million jobs in the private sector and 485,000 manufacturing jobs. I do not see anything giving Obama credit for saving GMC and the auto industry in total. Yes there is no more Saturn or Pontiac and those two brands will not be missed they were lousy cars and we still have Chevrolet and Cadillac. The auto industry GMC has shown a profit of 8 billion. A huge profit that they never had before. As far as the ACA, many people are against it in general but when they are asked on a point to point basis of the plan then all Americans love it. So like you guys you are listening to a radical putting untruths into your minds and I think you should all get on the computer and check what Obama has done and he has done tons for our Country. The republicans are desperate, Bruce, and are doing whatever they can to smear our President's merits. Bruce go take your lies back to Mitt Robme and stop posting in a democratic forum where your lies are not wanted and should not be believed just because it is written in a democratic forum. FORWARD. GOBAMA 2012.
