And the winner is… Monk Elmer

What does Monk Elmer, a first time Democratic candidate running against a 32 year Republican incumbent in a state senate district in Wisconsin, have to do with ActBlue’s landmark $100 Million fundraising milestone?

According to our records, it was a donation to Monk Elmer’s campaign that pushed us past $100 million! A physician, Elmer just launched his campaign (and has raised over $1,000 on ActBlue). He was recently profiled by his local WI paper, the Post-Crescent where you can learn more information about his background, issues, and how he got the name “Monk”.

It’s not entirely surprising that such a landmark contribution comes from one of of the many state district level candidates that use ActBlue. In fact, it’s candidates like Dr. Elmer which are why we work so hard to democratize fundraising and offer online fundraising tools to support thousands of Democratic campaigns.

Congratulations Monk Elmer- this graphic is all yours.

I’m sorry. I’m not giving ANYONE any more money until some BALLS are grown.
This is ridiculous.
You ask me to sign a petition…and then you ask for MONEY.
The Democrats have, ONCE AGAIN, shown the world that they have NO BALLS.
We WON the election. WE WON THE ELECTION.
And what do we do? We let the Republicans control the information, we let them get away with LYING.
NO ONE got in front of a camera to factcheck these lies the minute they started happening.
Grow some BALLS…and MAYBE you’ll get some kind of donation from me.
Until then?

You people aren’t progressives. You are fascists and when you get cancer in your old age and can’t get a doctor and die you will be happy.
You people make me sick. I wouldn’t give you a dime to further your fascist movement with your marxist/socialist president and “first lady”.
Joe Wilson told the truth and you people can’t stand it.

Proud Christian Liberal

Why do conservatives start name-calling when they get upset? Perhaps sites like this should donate money towards the purchase of dictionaries for people who don’t know the meaning of “progressive,” “socialism,” or “fascists.” Oh, wait – maybe they just need computer training so they can look it up on
Jesus wants us to help those who are ill, broken and beaten, those who have no money and need assistance just to eat or have money for health care. Read about the Good Samaritan parable in Luke 10:25-27. Jesus teaches us that God wants us to help each other…even if it’s inconvenient, costly, or dangerous.
To C. Jones:
1) Signing a petition helps get the message across to Congress what the public REALLY wants (so they don’t rely on “polls” which can be manipulated)
2) Donating even $5 helps organizations / candidates get these petitions signed and delivered and make sure they are READ by the decision-makers
3) Donating any amount of money HELPS the candidates “grow balls” because it costs money to refute the lies told by the opposition. In effect, you can help the balls grow by signing petitions and/or donating small or large amounts of money.
To Mee Mom:
Learn about the issues instead of name-calling. Look up the definitions of the words you’re using. It doesn’t help you sound legitimate or intelligent. You make it painfully obvious that you have no idea what you’re talking about and you have no actual knowledge of the health insurance reform proposal. You appear to only listen to one side of the issue (more likely, one radio personality or one Republican), and thereby reveal yourself as someone incapable of making an informed decision. It saddens me that you are a voter who believes propaganda and therefore acts as a puppet for the Republic party.
I will put both of you on my prayer list and ask the Lord to open your eyes, bring you peace and patience, and above all…to have compassion and understanding for those who really do die of cancer because they cannot afford treatment (due to greedy insurance companies). Perhaps when God answers my prayers, you will gain some humanity, stop name-calling, and stop wishing horrible things on your fellow brothers and sisters in mankind.

According to me ActBlue announces that Rob Miller has been fundraising on the site at a rate of $7 per second since Joe Wilson’s outburst Wednesday night and that is not a good idea.
