About ActBlue: Answering your most-asked questions!

Small-dollar donors demonstrated their energy and commitment after the launch of Vice President Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign, giving more than $200 million sitewide in the days after the announcement. This show of enthusiasm will make an impact for Democrats up and down the ballot this November, and ActBlue is proud to provide the tech infrastructure that changemakers across the country can rely on.

What is ActBlue?

ActBlue is the digital fundraising platform that Democratic candidates, progressive-aligned causes, and grassroots donors trust to raise the money they need to build change.

What happens when I donate through ActBlue?

Candidates and organizations nationwide rely on supporters to join them in fueling their work today, and for the long term. When you submit a donation through ActBlue, your money goes directly to the candidate, cause, or organization you chose to give to. There is just a 3.95% processing fee, which covers required credit card processing fees and helps keep contributions secure, that is passed on to the campaign or cause.

ActBlue is required to itemize and report to the FEC every single federal donation that comes through our platform, including donations under $200. Read our guide to learn more about FEC filings!

Why am I receiving emails and/or texts after chipping in on ActBlue?

Email lowers the barrier of entry to a campaign, and allows candidates and organizations to speak directly to you. ActBlue does not send emails or texts on behalf of any of the candidates or organizations that use our platform, and we do not sell your information or give it to any group you did not donate to. We pass along your email address (and phone number if you choose to provide it) to the group you gave to so they can get in touch.

What is an ActBlue Express account? And why should I create one?

ActBlue Express account allows you to view your donation history, save your information, and find candidates and causes to support. You don’t need an ActBlue Express account to donate through ActBlue, but they make keeping track of and managing your contributions even easier. You can sign in to your ActBlue Express account here!

I can’t find my contribution receipt! What should I do?

When you make a contribution, ActBlue sends a receipt to the email address you used to donate. These receipts allow you to view your contribution details or adjust your recurring donation if you made one. If you cannot locate your receipt, check your email’s spam or junk folders, as well as your other email accounts (you may have used another one of your email addresses to give!).

If you still can’t find your receipt, you can send yourself another one through your ActBlue Express account. When you log in, you’ll see your contribution history list. Next to each contribution, there is an “Email receipt” button. If you do not see your donation listed in your account, check out this article for support!
