2021 was another record-breaking year for small-dollar donors. 4.5 million donors gave 35.3 million contributions, totalling $1.3 billion on ActBlue in 2021. Our team worked hard to keep up with donors and stay ahead of grassroots giving trends by releasing multiple features to ensure that donors had all of the tools they needed to make an impact. We know this will be a busy election year, so we rounded up all of the latest and greatest tools for donors in this handy list so you can think about how these might work for you throughout your 2022 giving!
- Search and give in seconds with your ActBlue Express account
You can search for your favorite campaigns and organizations, or find new ones, right in your ActBlue Express account! Just log in, and a search bar will appear at the top left corner of the page. You can search for a specific candidate or organization by name, or use our filters to search by state or territory, the office a candidate is running for, committee type, fund type (like nominee funds and draft funds), or nonprofit issue area. Once you find the group you would like to give to, you can donate right from the search results! - Community forms made easy
Community forms are a great entry point for anyone to organize their personal networks and begin fundraising for their favorite candidates and causes! It’s easy to create a community form on both desktop and mobile, meaning whenever big moments occur, you’ll be ready to mobilize. After signing into your ActBlue Express account, you can customize your form to make it personal to you and your community, plus view stats and data once people start chipping in. - Earn donor badges when you give
Donor badges allow you to celebrate your achievements as an ActBlue Express user! ActBlue Express users earn badges when they take different actions or reach organizing milestones. Log into your ActBlue Express account to view the badges you’ve earned as well as the badges you have yet to earn. There are currently twelve donor badges you can earn through your ActBlue Express account by giving to a local candidate, making a recurring contribution, and more! And don’t forget to share your new badges on social media with your friends and family! - Donate using Venmo™
Venmo has joined our ever-growing digital wallet alongside payment options like Apple Pay®, Google Pay™, and PayPal™! You can make one-time donations to your favorite campaigns and organizations using Venmo on mobile and desktop. With more than half of contributions being made on mobile devices, this new digital wallet option makes grassroots giving more accessible to millions of potential donors.
From finding groups to give to in their ActBlue Express accounts to trying a new way to donate with Venmo, small-dollar donors have already started using these new tools and features to create change.
